In this work the issues related to the main malfunctions of the pantograph, as well as ways to eliminate them, were considered. In connection with the mass of breakdowns of aluminum inserts and shunts, the following solution was proposed – to replace aluminum inserts with graphite-carbon ones and to make the shunts thinner and longer.
