Altar of the XVII-XVIII centuries. As means of the organization of sacral space in catholic temples of Belarus

The article is devoted to the study of sacred space and its organization in the Catholic churches in the XVII-XVIII centuries on the territory of Belarus. The article discusses the altar hierarchy depending on its location in the temple and accessories parish or monastery church. Include reasons influenced the choice and use of a scheme of arrangement altars. Depending on the time period varied shaping principles of building of the main altar. Identify the main methods of forming the space and equipment of the main altar in the presbiterium of the temple, as well as the location of chapel and side altars. The result was a study to determine the main typological schemes altars placement used in the churches of the study period.
