Abstract

We consider the category of relationship as a form of address to unfamiliar addressees in the modern Chinese language. The range of forms of address in Chinese is very wide. In this regard, the addressing to a particular person in different regions of the country may have different forms. Age is an important factor that determines the choice of forms of address to unfamiliar addressees. The difference in language cultures influences the choice of forms of address.
