Abstract

The report is devoted to identifying the origins of an example of the most ancient intercultural communication – Indian Buddhism and traditional Chinese culture. Indian Buddhism and traditional Chinese culture. Indian Buddhist religious traditions and spiritual practices in the process of assimilation by part of the Chinese population were enriched by elements of traditional regional Chinese culture. As a result of this synthesis, Chan Buddhism arose, which became one of the religious traditions of China.
